Chapter 445 - First Dose of Their Own Medicine (1)
Tang Moyu's expression immediately changed the moment she heard what Yun Zhen said to her. Of all the things that he could use against her, why would he claim that he was her little buns' father?
Her eyes narrowed dangerously as she looked over her shoulder. Yun Zhen was playing a dangerous game and the empress was not pleased, not even a bit.
This was the first time someone had blatantly used her little buns against her. Was Yun Zhen expecting her to fall for such a cheap trick?
After Feng Tianyi revealed to her about the paternity test that proved his relation to her little buns, the man had even gone as far as allowing her to run another test to prove his claims a week later.
When the result came and she read the same findings on the blood test between her twins and Feng Tianyi, it only proved that he was the person she'd been with on that fateful night, so it was really impossible for her to accept Yun Zhen's claims now.
"Yun Zhen, I don't know why you can't let go, but please don't make me hate you. This is low, even for someone like you." She warned the man dangerously.
Talking about her little buns was a s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e issue, this was why she and Feng Tianyi hadn't widely revealed it yet. They had only told a couple of friends about the truth.
Seeing her reaction, Yun Zhen released a breath he didn't know he was holding. Tang Moyu was reminding him to have some dignity as he didn't need to stoop as low as this.
"You are right. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that." He told the empress with a solemn expression on his face. He should know better than to piss Tang Moyu off if he really wanted to earn her trust.
Tang Moyu paused for a moment. Although she already knew half of the truth about what happened that night, she still had no idea how she ended up in Feng Tianyi's bed. Aside from the fact that the white lotus bitch had drugged her, Yun Zhen might know what had happened after she passed out from too much liquor under the influence of a drug.
"Say, do you really know what happened that night? If you do, why haven't you done something to help me?" She questioned him.
As much as she loved her little buns and Feng Tianyi, there were times she hoped that she hadn't had them at the lowest point of her life. However, since she couldn't change the past, Tang Moyu could only do her best to make better choices in the future.
"Do you really want to know?" She heard Yun Zhen asked.
"I wouldn't have bothered to ask you if I'm not interested. If you really cared about me then why…" Her words trailed off, but it was enough for Yun Zhen to feel guilty about it. He was with her that time so how did she end up in another's man bed and bore his bastards?
"Just as you said, I had a few drinks with you and Miss Xing. Do you remember or have you forgotten that you were with us that night?" He asked.
"Yes." The empress affirmed. "I remember being pestered by Xing Yiyue that night, insisting on calling me her sister."
The last thing she remembered that night was having a drink with the two of them. It wasn't clear to her what happened next and could only remember the blurred memories of being intimate with a man.
"You started acting weird, not like yourself. On that night, I remember you wearing your spectacles and having a hard time keeping up with what was happening around you. Miss Xing took you away when you started to feel dizzy, telling me that Feng Conglomerate has already reserved a room for you to use, and she would drop you there before going home herself." Yun Zhen started to recall that fateful day. The day he lost the empress for good.
"But you didn't believe her." Tang Moyu pointed out, seeing the grim expression on his face. Although she didn't feel anything special for Yun Zhen, he had her respect.
"I sure didn't. Although Miss Xing has an innocent beauty, it wasn't enough for her to hide the ugliness of her heart." Yun Zhen said, surprising Tang Moyu. She'd never thought that this man was able to perceive that fake Cinderella right then, but where did it go wrong?
"I followed you without her knowing and heard that she had planned everything when I overheard her conversation with someone over the phone. I have no idea who she was talking to, but when she started to call someone else, giving the room number you were in, I panicked."
Tang Moyu squinted her eyes on him, trying to gauge if he was lying or not, but she could only see the helplessness on his face. A hint of guilt and despair flashed through his eyes, which made her wonder how much it had affected him since then.
Had Yun Zhen blamed himself for all the misfortune she suffered after that night? But why? They were never close to each other in the first place. Unless he already found out that she was that girl upon meeting her personally.
"Then what happened?" This only confirmed her suspicion that it was Xing Yiyue who had set her up to lose her innocence unwillingly, effectively ruining her reputation as well as losing her ground and status as Feng Tianhua's fiancée.
"I waited for her to leave before I sneaked into the room to get you out before those men she hired came to find you. I knew I needed to do something… but… I'm sorry, Moyu. I lost you halfway when I was talking to my assistant over the phone. I only turned for a couple of seconds and I just lost you completely." Yun Zhen apologized to her as Tang Moyu stared at him blankly.
