Chapter 448 - The Fall of Tang Enterprise (2)
Tang Moyu drove away as soon as she stepped out of the Tang Estate. She didn't even spare the woman who raised her a look and strode away, leaving the whole family to crumble on its own. This was their punishment for repeatedly offending her. This was also to teach them a lesson not to mess with her anymore.
However, instead of going straight back to Peach Blossom Garden, where her family was waiting for her, Tang Moyu drove towards the law firm that handled her father's will. With the marriage certificate she had secured with Feng Tianyi, it was time to claim everything that was rightfully hers.
The lawyer didn't seem surprised when he saw her. In fact, he had a small smile on his face that told Tang Moyu that he'd been expecting her to return since the last time she visited.
"Miss Tang, you are back!" He said with a smile, clasping his hands on top of his desk as he looked at the woman sitting across him.
"I've secured a marriage certificate. Can I have the shares and the rest of the assets now?" Tang Moyu questioned him.
"Why, of course, Miss Moyu. Let me handle the procedures so we can transfer everything in your name." The old man said.
It took hours before Tang Moyu confirmed that all the paperwork was in order and decided to go home. She had thrown Yun Zhen's confession at the back of her mind and was planning her next steps, now that she had gained the upper hand against the Tang family and Feng Tianhua.
She parked her car in the garage of her home, but sat inside for a long time. With simmering anger against the Tang family, she did not want to face her little buns like this. Tang Moyu didn't want them to be worried about her, not when she had just married their real father.
Tang Moyu alighted her car and took her belongings before locking the doors behind her. She was welcomed by two hyperactive preschoolers who came running towards her as soon as they saw her coming.
"Mommy! Mommy! Look what Daddy taught me today!" Little Star eagerly tried to show her a piece of paper with uneven lines and figures on it. Tang Moyu smiled genuinely this time, forgetting all the woes she had earlier.
"That looks good, darling. Did you behave while Mommy's gone?" She patted her daughter's head as they walked alongside each other to the gazebo, where Feng Tianyi was having tea.
"Why do you make it sound like I'm teaching them something else instead? Baobao and Little Star are really good children. They even helped me make some cookies earlier." She heard Feng Tianyi say as she gave him a light peck on his cheek, before taking a seat next to him.
"Everything alright?" He asked when he noticed the slight scowl on her beautiful face.
"Good." Tang Moyu inclined her head and watched as he prepared another cup of tea for her. "I met someone today who gave me some answers."
She felt him stiffened on her side for a moment, then he resumed whatever he was doing.
"Yun Zhen?" He asked.
Tang Moyu had to give it to the devil. This man really knows where to hit someone's weakness. As to how he came to that conclusion, the empress had no idea.
"Yes. It seems like the Tang family was eager to sell me off. They were trying to get me to marry Yun Zhen when they heard the rumors about us. Anyway, now that the majority of the shares are in my hands, the future of Tang Enterprise won't be as bright as it was." Regardless if Feng Tianyi would like to hear it or not, Tang Moyu decided to be honest with him.
"A matchmaking session, huh? Too bad for them, you aren't available anymore." Feng Tianyi pushed her cup in front of her before embracing her affectionately.
"You aren't mad?" She raised a brow at him. Usually, by this time, he would be frowning, muttering something to himself about how annoying some people could be.
"I didn't forget Gu Yuyao's reminder last night. She was right. So long as we are married, and you love me, I don't need to get upset every time a man tries to talk to you."
"Even if Yun Zhen had just asked for my hand in marriage from the Tang family?"
The devil fell silent on those words, but shook his head a moment later.
"It's pointless to think about what ifs. I trust you, Moyu."
Promising to spend the rest of her life with him? How can Feng Tianyi not be moved by that? Her heartfelt confession was enough to dispel the worries he had in his heart before. He was not going to allow those worries to resurface and ruin their relationship.
He could clearly see the love in her eyes right now, and he trusts that she wouldn't be able to be swayed by another man. Tang Moyu rarely expressed what's on her mind and in her heart, and he appreciated that she did not stop herself from acknowledging her feelings for him.
Both of them came a long way before they found each other again. Several emotions flitted through his eyes. The only thing he was certain of was that she wanted him because she really wanted him in her life, not just for the little buns.
"Are you joining us at Xiao Xing soon? We haven't opened our office here in Shenzhen. Lianchen is still finalizing the papers before our inauguration." Feng Tianyi asked. He released Tang Moyu from his embrace and watched her with interest as she added a dash of honey to her tea before taking a sip from her cup.
"It's fine. The important thing is, we've already settled the main office in Linyi City. Others should be easy." The empress replied.
