Chapter 467 - Wedding Night (1)
The rain continued to pour outside. Feng Tianyi glanced at his phone and sighed as he sat next to his daughter's bed, patting her back to lull Little Star to sleep. Her twin brother was already splayed on his own bed, deep asleep the moment his head hit the pillow.
The girl had a hard time sleeping on her own as she'd gotten used to being tended to sleep by her mother. However tonight, Tang Moyu had to make several phone calls to check on the Tang family, making sure that they had already vacated the estate before her visit.
So now, Feng Tianyi had to do the honor of reading a bedtime story for their daughter and properly tuck the twins to bed. Once Little Star had fallen asleep, he silently closed the door behind him and decided to find his wife.
This was the first time he would be sleeping here at the main house as Tang Moyu's husband. It had taken him and Auntie Lu over two weeks to decide which of his belongings should he bring with him here.
Since he and Tang Moyu were already married, naturally, he would share the master bedroom with her. He had only been there once when he brought some of his luggages and with the help of Auntie Lu, sorted his clothes in the connecting walk-in wardrobe next to the room.
Just as he expected, the empress's room had the best scenery of the property. From the balcony, he was able to see the whole garden as its own, with a stunning view of the weeping cherry tree at the center.
When Feng Tianyi didn't find his wife in the master bedroom or the bathroom, he decided to check the study, where she frequently spent time in before going to bed. The soft sound of typing caused him to arch a brow. He saw the empress sitting at her desk, typing over the keyboard of her laptop.
The study was dimly lit and Feng Tianyi knew that even though he was facing her direction, Tang Moyu would have a hard time noticing him in the dim room. He leaned against the door frame with his arms crossed as he carefully scrutinized the woman he had recently married.
Tang Moyu was surprisingly kind, far from how the public perceives her as a ruthless businesswoman, and she was very attentive, but only to those she deemed worthy of her attention. The only thing that Feng Tianyi thought could make people avoid her was her cold nature, something he didn't think was an issue at all.
Feng Tianyi didn't mind that she didn't speak too much, unlike his distant cousin, Gu Yuyao, who didn't seem to be able to shut up even for a minute whenever she was around. He didn't like loud and boisterous women and had always kept his distance from them.
He also didn't mind the fact that she couldn't express her emotion much, but he supposed that it was because he was used to it by now. Tang Moyu hadn't lied to him so far, and had held all her promises to his wicked heart.
After all, she was the woman who accepted him even though he was at his lowest point, right? Her silence didn't seem out of the ordinary to him anymore and in fact, Feng Tianyi enjoyed their rare moments together, content with holding each other's hand in silence while watching their twins' amusing antics.
Also, he noticed that she had become slightly more vocal with her opinions over the past months they had been together. Somewhere along the way, he had fallen in love with her without him noticing it himself until he realized that he couldn't be without her.
It had come as a great surprise to him that Tang Moyu was willing to compromise, but nevertheless, he appreciated that she was trying to communicate with him to avoid misunderstandings and unnecessary drama between them.
A smile crossed his lips as he watched her lean back in her seat and turned off the laptop in front of her. He guessed that it was hard for the empress to sit back or laze around doing nothing.
As a workaholic woman that she was, Tang Moyu had been itching to finish some work behind him and their little buns. At this rate, Feng Tianyi thought that it would be hard for him to convince her to have another baby anytime soon.
Before he could pursue that thought any further, Feng Tianyi found himself staring directly at his wife's curious eyes as she looked at him from the desk before she slowly rose to her feet. She turned off the lights within the room and strode towards him silently.
"I thought you would have gone to bed by now." Tang Moyu said quietly as she closed the door of the study behind her.
With some difficulty, she tore her gaze away from his, trying to calm her racing heart. She always found his intense gaze on her from time to time, but she chose to ignore it every time, afraid to admit to herself that he overwhelmed her.
"I was going to, but I didn't see my wife." Feng Tianyi admitted and smiled wickedly at her. He leaned forward, his hot breath touching her ear. "It's been weeks, Moyu. Aren't you tired of stalling our wedding night?"
She looked away, ashamed to find out that her husband was aware about it this whole time. If he knew about it, Tang Moyu wondered why he hadn't said anything until now.
"Sorry." She muttered an apology with a blush. "I have been distracted by the Tang family these days. I have to make sure that everything will go according to plan."
