Chapter 474 - Devil for a Husband (3)
No wonder she'd been having ominous feelings since morning. She should have known that Zhang Wuying wouldn't stay still, doing nothing, while she was literally losing everything.
"Did she do something?" Feng Tianyi was immediately alerted by the news. It seemed like this time, the Zhang family wouldn't play nice with his wife. "Moyu, if you want I can…"
Tang Moyu remained silent for a moment until they reached the intersection where there was a red light. There were rain clouds gathering up in the sky, indicating another storm that will hit the city in the late afternoon.
The little buns behind them were busy munching the eclairs Feng Tianyi bought earlier before going to kindergarten. He cast his wife a worried look, hoping she would do the same thing and share the burden with him as her husband.
"Mommy, that woman… She isn't our grandmother, right?" Xiao Bao suddenly asked, breaking the silence inside the car.
Tang Moyu glanced at her dashboard mirror and saw the worried look on her son's face. There was a reason why she never talked about her own parents with her little buns. She wasn't quite ready for them to know that there were horrible people out there that hated them, that would target them for their own selfish gains.
She remained silent throughout their ride and only broke it once the twins ran inside the house, leaving her alone with Feng Tianyi at the patio of the main house.
"Actually, I want to ask you a favor…" She said, rubbing her arm nervously. Dealing with the Tang family wasn't a problem for her, but if the Zhangs were involved, especially with her birth mother and twin brother's death, then it was a different matter.
"What is it?" Feng Tianyi drew her close as he held her arm. If he could do something to help her dispel her uneasiness, then he would to the best of his ability to help her.
"I need to know what happened in the past." Tang Moyu leaned her forehead against his broad c.h.e.s.t. "I'm clueless as to what had happened and I know that there are still things I don't understand."
"So what do you want me to do?" Feng Tianyi asked.
"Investigate the Zhang family and find everything that is related to my parents. I don't know why, Tianyi. I feel like I'm missing something since we went to Nanchang to find answers about my mother. I feel like we've only touched the tip of the iceberg and there is more to it." She admitted in a low voice.
Unlike Feng Tianyi, she didn't have enough resources to find the answers she needed. She pulled away from his embrace and ran her fingers through her messy hair.
"I'm sorry if I sound presumptuous." They had only been married for a few weeks, but she was already asking for a favor like this.
Feng Tianyi let out a low laugh and cupped her chin gently, making her look at his face. He could never get tired of looking at her face. Every expression she made was something he looked forward to seeing.
"Moyu, you are my wife now. You shouldn't feel like this. As your husband, it's only natural for me to extend a hand to help you. If this will help you have peace of mind, then I'm more than willing to do it."
Tang Moyu rarely asked him for something. How can he let this chance go to waste without proving that he's a capable husband? More than anything, the empress needed someone that could have her back to protect her little buns, their twins.
"Thank you." Tang Moyu bashfully smiled at his words, which the devil found cute. He was glad that she was allowing him to see this part of her.
"I haven't done anything yet, Moyu." He patted her head like a kid. "But I expect some compensation once I'm done." His eyes flashed with mischievous glint that wasn't lost to the empress.
Tang Moyu huffed and slapped his shoulder playfully.
"Are you sure you want to help me, or do you just want to get in my pants?" She glared at him.
"That… of course I want to help my wife." The devil smiled suggestively. "And I've been in your pants. I don't mind recreating it with you, in case you've forgotten."
"Feng Tianyi, you are a beast!" She said incredulously and covered her face with both hands. How can she forget that this man had managed to leave her bedridden, not only once but thrice!
"I shouldn't have married you." She muttered to herself, much to the devil's amus.e.m.e.nt.
Ah, dating and marriage were totally different things! If she thought that the devil was outrageous when they were just dating, she didn't know having a devil for a husband would challenge not only her patience, but her physical stamina as well when it comes to bed.
Feng Tianyi leaned forward and playfully nibbled her earlobe.
"Too late, Baby. You are the one who proposed to me and divorce isn't an option between us." Feng Tianyi reminded her. "Now, let's go inside before the twins raid the fridge again for desserts."
Since Tang Moyu had resigned from the company, she had slowly reminded the twins of the house rules she had implemented in their household.
Ever since Feng Tianyi moved in with them, the rules had been repeatedly violated, courtesy of the devil not being able to refuse their little buns' demands. It wasn't easy for him to say no, especially to their daughter, who knew exactly how to emotionally blackmail her father.
Who would have thought that the devil would easily yield to whatever his children asked for? It only gave Tang Moyu a headache, but she knew that she was the only one who could enforce the rules on their children. She didn't want them to be unruly in the future.
Tang Moyu rolled her eyes and allowed her husband to drag her inside. She felt like she gained another son instead of a husband.
