Chapter 506 - Shes My Friend (2)
His disappointment over the reason that he wasn't able to see her and talk to her before she left had made Feng Tianyi decide to forget what transpired during that short trip he had with his godfather. He was forced to accept that he wouldn't be able to see nor meet Yu'er again.
Just as she said during their first meeting, there's no need for them to know her name, as he would be forgetting about her soon anyway, or so they thought.
Why hadn't he asked her real name? If he knew who she was, perhaps it would be easy for him to find her in the future, but the question was still: why?
True. The few weeks he spent with the little girl was something he never had with anyone before. Because Yu'er was a few years younger than him, it was his responsibility to look after her whenever she was with him.
He gave her food whenever she said she's hungry, wiped the sweat on her face when she played too much. Feng Tianyi wanted Yu'er to forget about her sad life back in the city. He wanted her to remember that once in her life, she'd been special for someone, even if it was temporary.
Her mother's hatred and her father's absence in her life was something that shocked the young Feng Tianyi. He couldn't understand how one couldn't love Yu'er. She was a beautiful and polite girl, even though she had a huge appetite.
They spent time together in silence. Words weren't needed for them to understand each other. Even when they grew up and got married, the two understood each other better than anyone else did.
Young Feng Tianyi would escort her back to his uncle's rest house, purposely slowing down his pace for Yu'er. Everyone seemed to notice the closeness between them, but never voiced their opinion over it.
The girl was easy to be with and didn't pester him with questions. Although Uncle Yang and his daughter were a bit worried about the two, they didn't stop them from seeing each other. The little girl was no doubt like a young devil in the making, unlike the other girls her age.
His father was displeased with him and with everything he was. His mother on the other hand, although Feng Tianyi knew she loved him, was barely even there to look after him. Other children were terrified of him, except for Yu'er.
Little Yu'er didn't fear him. She only cried in front of him because of distress and not because she didn't like him, albeit she liked him as her 'big sister'.
Thinking about the past, Feng Tianyi gave a side glance to his wife, who was now staring at him curiously. Even now, Yu'er did not fear him. It didn't bother him anyway. He didn't want Tang Moyu to fear him. But anyone else could go burn in the pit of hell with his father for all he cared.
Being in Tang Moyu's company, the devil was able to forget the pain in his heart for a moment. Her presence was enough for him to calm his nerves, not that he would admit it to anyone. However, even though he knew she would eventually leave and that this was just a short encounter between them, he wasn't prepared for her sudden departure.
Feng Tianyi was saddened by it. She was gone, and it was also time for him to resume his normal life without her.
But unknown to him…
Yu'er's eyes stung with tears as she looked at her father. She fought her father vehemently to see her new friend for one last time. She wanted to bid goodbye and thank 'Big Sister' for being nice to her for the past weeks they'd been together, but her daddy wouldn't hear any of it.
"You're mistaken, Moyu. She… she's deceiving you." Her daddy told her, but she didn't understand.
"But daddy, she's my friend." Yu'er argued, fisting the skirt of her dress tightly. She wanted to at least call 'her', or leave 'her' a letter but she didn't have enough time to write it.
Their luggage, as well as the Li family were already loaded in the car as it was already time for them to go back to Shenzhen. Her friend's family was already waiting for them so they could leave.
She knew Big Sister would be sad and alone again. Yu'er didn't need to ask to know that her new friend was hurt, just like she was. Big sister's eyes spoke volumes that she couldn't convey through words.
Li Meili told her that some people distanced themselves to protect themselves from being hurt again. Yu'er didn't understand what her best friend meant by that at first, until she met this Big sister who rescued her.
She didn't understand at first why Big sister preferred to be alone, but didn't chase her away the first time she was with her. Yu'er was content to have Big sister next to her as if no one would be able to hurt her again, not even her mommy, whom she and her daddy had left in Shenzhen.
Yu'er's lips quivered at the thought. She was going home and she would be lonely again. Anyway, she knew all of this would end. She shouldn't have deluded herself that she would be able to stay by that kind big sister's side for too long.
As her face fell, Tang Lixue's heart clenched painfully at the sight of it. Although he loved his daughter so much, he cannot allow that young boy to deceive his little empress any longer. He wasn't sure why the young boy was pretending to be a girl.
Was he trying to trick his daughter? Tang Lixue frowned. That brat! So young, but was already too cunning at that age. Did the boy think he would allow him to deceive his little empress?
It was a good thing that the bond between the two wasn't strong yet, or so he thought.
