Chapter 507 - Two Wives (1)
"So you and Tianyi really have children together." Yang Huan cupped his chin and laughed. "And here I thought he was trying to pull my leg."
Tang Moyu only hummed and looked at their twins with a smile on her face. She hadn't seen her children this happy before they met Feng Tianyi.
"I guess it's really surprising for everyone." She replied.
Song Huifen held the empress's hand, catching her off guard.
"It must have been hard for you to take good care of Baobao and Little Star on your own." The empress dowager said.
"It was hard, but at the end of the day, I'd forget all those worries and exhaustion whenever I look at them." Tang Moyu smiled back. Indeed, it had been hard for her. She also couldn't imagine how she could have survived all of it if she didn't have Li Meili by her side.
"Anyway, that was in the past. Now that you are with Tianyi, you won't need to face everything on your own." Song Huifen told her. The empress was moved by the older woman's assurance.
"Thank you." She felt like the burden on her shoulders was lightened by her mother-in-law's words.
Tang Moyu thought that she somehow dodged the bullet when her wedding with Feng Tianhua was called off in the past. There was no doubt that unlike Song Huifen, Wang Ruoxi would constantly nag her into submission, something Tang Moyu knew she couldn't accept——
"So you were that Big Sister, huh?" Tang Moyu crossed her arms over her c.h.e.s.t as she leaned against the doorframe of their bedroom, looking at Feng Tianyi with a teasing smile on her lips.
Yang Huan and Song Huifen had dinner with them, catching up with their little buns. Since the two weren't able to witness their marriage registration weeks ago, the elders excitedly planned a wedding ceremony for the two of them.
Tang Moyu and Feng Tianyi could only look at each other and sigh, knowing that planning a ceremony would cause them more headaches in the future. Once their guests bid goodbye and left Peach Blossom Garden, Tang Moyu gave their twins a quick bath and tucked them to bed, leaving Feng Tianyi enough time to make some phone calls.
Feng Tianyi g.r.o.a.n.e.d and flopped on their massive bed, covering his eyes with one arm. If his Uncle Yang hadn't mentioned it, he would have forgotten all of it. Alas, how could he deny the fact that he never made it clear to Yu'er that he was a boy and had let her foolishly believe that he was a girl all those time they were together.
Tang Moyu sighed and took a seat next to him, wondering what was going on in his mind. It wasn't lost to her how his demeanor instantly changed when he was reminded of the past. Had it somehow connected to the painful memories he was trying to forget?
"Were you mad at me when I didn't personally go and say goodbye?" She suddenly asked, instantly gaining her husband's attention.
Feng Tianyi removed his arm and rolled on his side to look at her.
"What the hell are you talking about? Why would I be mad at you? Didn't you make it clear from the beginning that you would eventually leave?"
He was upset back then, alright. But he never put the blame on Yu'er. He just didn't expect that she would be gone before he knew it. Yu'er was the first friend he made that wasn't related to him at all.
Feng Tianyi was just happy to have her by his side back then.
"I see. I was worried that you'd come to hate me because I suddenly stopped showing up. How come you've never told me that you're a he?" The amused glint in her eyes told Feng Tianyi that she wouldn't let him off easily.
"Because I remember someone telling me that she wasn't allowed to talk to boys, but somehow, along the way, that same girl promised to marry another boy when she grows up." Feng Tianyi countered, his eyes narrowed into slits.
"Well, how am I supposed to know that you weren't a girl? You never bothered to tell me your name." She huffed in return. No wonder she felt some familiarity when she met him as Qin Jiran the first time. He and that beautiful big sister she'd met before had the same blank and coldness in their eyes.
Tang Moyu squealed when she was suddenly dragged by her husband to the bed with him, encircling his arm on her waist as he curled behind her as well. She peeked over her shoulder and noticed the tiredness on his face as he closed his eyes.
At this rate, he would end up falling sick. Tang Moyu just sighed as she snuggled against him to sleep. What exactly happened to him over the years? Even if they were now husband and wife, Feng Tianyi had kept his silence on some issues regarding his father and Feng Tianhua.
The empress's eyes fluttered shut and sleep consumed her, feeling safe, knowing that she would never be alone again. With Feng Tianyi next by her side, she wouldn't have to deal everything on her own.
When Feng Tianyi woke up, the sun hadn't risen yet. He inhaled the light sweet familiar scent beside him and couldn't help but crack his eyes open. He looked at her silky, wavy black hair that now reached past her waist as he held her small, warm body against his.
For so many reasons, this felt so familiar and warm at the same time. Tang Moyu wasn't the first woman he shared his bed with, but she was the only one who managed to dispel his nightmares at night.
He was ashamed to admit the reason he preferred to work late at night was because he didn't want those nightmares and memories to haunt him. At least when he was too tired, he would have a dreamless sleep during the day.
