Chapter 559 - Think Twice Before You Speak (3)
The corner of Tang Moyu's curled up, pleased that Feng Tianyi understood what she meant. She wouldn't blame him for acting like that. She would have done the same thing if she witnessed her loved one being choked to death. So she wouldn't really hold it against Feng Tianyi for losing his cool earlier.
She finished drying her hair and joined him on the bed. She took his right hand in hers and smiled at him.
"Tianyi, actually, I'm not mad at you. In fact, I am grateful you arrived on time to save me. I must really be a fool to think I could always win and put myself in a situation where you were forced to do something you didn't want to do." She told him.
"No, Moyu. I don't regret any of it because I managed to save you." Feng Tianyi said blankly in return. He was trying hard to see if there was any hint of fear or hatred in her eyes, but there were none.
"See. That's what I'm worried about." Tang Moyu flicked his forehead playfully. "Silly, do you really think I would allow you to commit murder just because I got hurt?"
She should have been more careful. She got a worrywart for a husband who wouldn't think twice and would jump head on if that meant he would be able to save her arse from trouble.
Feng Tianyi pursed his lips. That… well he was willing to do it if he had to, but if Tang Moyu wasn't comfortable with the idea, he only needed to make sure she wouldn't find out about it.
"Are you really my partner if you aren't going to help me bury their corpses?" He blurted out. The silence that followed made him realize that he might have misspoken.
Tang Moyu gaped at him, blinked twice before she burst into a peal of laughter. She laughed so hard that Feng Tianyi's jaw dropped at the scene before him. He had never seen his wife laugh as hard as she did tonight.
Was his words so funny that she couldn't stop herself from laughing this much?
How could she find entertainment in such a serious conversation between them? Feng Tianyi had no idea. However, seeing her like this, the worry in his heart disappeared. As long as she's safe and happy, others can go to hell.
"Nothing. I should have expected that the "Devil" doesn't leave evidence and traces that would lead them back to him." Tang Moyu said, wiping the tears from the corner of her eyes.
Feng Tianyi sighed in relief and pulled her into his embrace. He was really afraid that she might have gotten hurt earlier, resulting in his recklessness in front of her.
"You aren't mad at me? You aren't afraid of me?" He voiced his concerns. While he knew that Tang Moyu trusted him, Feng Tianyi didn't fully trust himself.
"No. Of course not. I trust you. Plus, Mr. Jia said that that was you before I met you. Is he right?" Tang Moyu murmured as she chose to bask in his warmth. She felt better now that he was with her.
"Not so close but yeah, I was a horrible person before." He replied.
Just the thought of the kind of deeds he'd done in the past made him lower his head in remorse. How many more out there had experienced the same case as Jia Yuntao, who was enticed by his offer and lost his business overnight?
He even heard some had taken their own lives and committed the crimes he instigated himself. Jia Yuntao was at least fortunate that he was able to save himself after drowning in helplessness and started a new life peacefully. But how about those people who were stuck and continued to face hardship in their lives because of him?
"Stop thinking too much, Tianyi. It won't help the two of us." Tang Moyu said when she noticed the deep frown on his face. "Just as what Mr. Jia said, it was in the past and the only thing that matters now is what you do today and in the future."
Feng Tianyi contemplated her words and the old man's advice. By just looking at her, he was reminded why he should be careful with his actions now. In the past, he didn't care to think of the outcome of his devious actions to others and what kind of life they would have to face after their fallout.
If anything, he was untouchable back then. With his infamous reputation and being Song Huifen's only son, others would think twice or thrice before plotting a scheme against him. Surely, Song Huifen wouldn't sit idly on one side while knowing that someone wanted her son's life.
However, Feng Tianyi knew that there were still idiots out there who would attempt to get even with him after years of being under their radar. What if they turn their attention to Tang Moyu and their twins? There was no doubt that they were his greatest weaknesses at the moment.
"As for your past, they are a part of you. You wouldn't be the 'you' today if you didn't experience such things in the first place. Our mistakes should teach us to become a better person and not to commit the same mistake again, don't you think?" Tang Moyu added.
When she was facing an emotional turmoil about her growing feelings for him, which she couldn't put a stop to anymore, this was one of the things she had given a deep thought about.
Earlier, when he chose to allow his devil side to take over him, Tang Moyu not only saw the murderous intent in his eyes, but she also saw a hint of fear. Fear that he might have come too late to save her. She never wanted to see him looking like that again.
"Fine. If you say so." He conceded. It was really hard to win against his wife when she was like this.
