Chapter 614 - Sister-in-Law (2)
It still hadn't sunk in Feng Tianhua's mind that Tang Moyu had truly gotten married, to his older brother of all people. So seeing her sitting nonchalantly next to his brother made him feel displeased. He knew he didn't have any right to question her, but he didn't think she should allow Feng Tianyi to use her.
Feng Tianyi was the one person he could never trust in this world. From the moment he was conscious of his surroundings, everyone kept comparing him to his older brother who looked much better and smarter than him. It also didn't help that Feng Tianyi always made sure to remind him that he was inferior to him and a bastard of his father, destined to eat his crumbs.
He thought that, over time, their relationship would improve. However, that never happened. Every time they met, the insults thrown at each other only became fiercer and worse than before. It wasn't until Feng Tianyi got involved in a car accident did Feng Tianhua's life become peaceful, knowing that his older brother would stop making things difficult for him.
"Why are you here?" Feng Tianhua didn't bother with pleasantries and confronted his older brother. Whenever Feng Tianyi showed up, arguments always ensued between them.
"How rude, Tianhua. Aren't you going to greet me and congratulate your new sister-in-law?" Feng Tianyi chuckled with a devilish smile. "Considering you and Moyu have known each other for years, I don't see why you won't get along well."
Feng Tianhua repeatedly cursed his older brother in his heart. Tang Moyu was supposed to be his wife, not Feng Tianyi's. By saying this, wasn't Feng Tianyi only trying to pour salt over his wound?
"I did tell you I'm moving back, right? Don't tell me you didn't bother to inform your mother and wife. My, my, Tianhua. You are starting to get unreasonable. How could you do this to your own family?"
"Tianhua, what's the meaning of this?" Wang Ruoxi asked her son, but she already had a gist as to what Feng Tianyi was talking about.
Feng Tianhua hesitated to answer his mother. How was he supposed to explain to her and to his wife that Feng Tianyi came here with his new wife to kick them out of his property?
Their father might have been able to convince the board of directors to allow Feng Tianhua to take over the management of Feng Conglomerate, but he wasn't able to change the will of the Old Master Feng to name Feng Tianyi as his successor.
Technically, Feng Tianyi was the owner and the master of this estate, and they were only staying at the courtyard house a couple of meters away from the main mansion because Feng Tianyi allowed them to do so. However, recent events led to a different story. The devil came here for the sole reason that he wanted to evict them from this place.
"Ah, Lady Wang. Don't blame Tianhua. He probably didn't tell you I wanted you out of this house and thought that I was just trying to pull his leg when I sent that notice."
Wang Ruoxi stared at him wide-eyed as if she couldn't believe what he had just said. She'd been living here in this house for decades along with her son, and now, Feng Tianyi wanted them out just like that?
Was his son only destined to have the crumbs Song Huifen's son left for them? Wang Ruoxi couldn't accept it. No matter what everyone or the Old Master Feng thought, it wouldn't change the fact that her son was also a Feng.
Her son should have the same rights Feng Tianyi had over the inheritance of the Feng family; why couldn't he? Why did they have to beg for something that was rightfully theirs?
Tang Moyu, who kept her silence throughout their conversation, felt a headache coming her way. She supposed that the stress of being overworked before the inauguration banquet had started to take a toll on her health. Noticing her uneasiness, Feng Tianyi lightly squeezed her hand and knitted his brows in concern.
"Moyu, if you feel tired, why don't you take a walk outside? The garden is well-kept by the Feng family's retainers. It should be enough to improve your mood," he suggested to his wife.
Tang Moyu looked at Feng Tianhua's face and then at the other women sitting across from her. Since it wasn't her business to poke on, she would rather leave her husband to bully his little brother on his own. She now understood why Feng Tianhua told her to avoid the devil at any cost because he could be seriously petty when he wanted to.
"Alright. I'll do that. Take your time and don't cause troubles here." She gave her husband a pointed look, reminding him not to go overboard with his pettiness. She then stood up, intending to leave Feng Tianyi with her in-laws.
Feng Tianhua, whose eyes fixated on the empress clenched his jaws upon witnessing the affectionate gestures the two made in front of him. So this was what he'd lost when he abandoned her.
"Yue, why don't you accompany Moyu outside?" He told his own wife. "I know you two have a lot of catching up to do."
After all, Tang Moyu and Xing Yiyue were both important people in his life, and he didn't want his wife to be burdened by the guilt of the past. Whether Tang Moyu forgives Xing Yiyue or not would be at her discretion.
Tang Moyu's face turned into a scowl. Couldn't she get some peaceful time on her own? Did she really have to deal with this two-faced woman? Why did she have to endure Xing Yiyue's company now?
"Yes, Yue'er. That's right. Accompany Moyu for some time while we talk here." Wang Ruoxi agreed, gesturing at Xing Yiyue to follow the empress. Considering how bad the arguments between the Feng brothers could get, she didn't want Xing Yiyue to suffer complications because of it.
