Chapter 117: Doubting Their Sanity
Hypersexual disorder. That was what they slapped onto her.
"I don't need your attention, mother. I am not a child who needs their family's support."
"You will go back to therapy," Li Li Hua demanded.
At therapy, the conversation went something like this:
"I just enjoy sex!" she exclaimed for the hundredth time.
"Life is much more fulfilling and enriching when we learn to do things in moderation."
Yize rolled her eyes. "It's not like there are consequences to liking sex. In fact, I am healthier because of the workout!"
"What if you get pregnant?" the counsellor asked.
"I could get hit by a truck, too," she countered. "For the thousandth time, I use protection. I am on birth-control and I always use condoms."
"There are other—"
"Level with me," Mo Yize leaned forward. "Is there anything wrong with a girl who has sex on a regular basis? I know about safe sex and I practice it. And that is not the problem here, is it? I trashed someone's car after fucking them for a few months."
"Well, you trashed his car because you didn't know him well and got duped by him," the counsellor pressed. "Why are you having sex with guys you don't know that well?"
"Because I want to?" she queried, even though they both knew she wasn't questioning her stance.
"But you can finally see that you can't satisfy your need for sex without consequences. There are emotional consequences of this and you push away people to do it."
Yize gritted her teeth. "If this is about female companionship, the last friend I had is now back in my life and in that video with me, trashing the man's car. Doesn't that scream female camaraderie to you?"
"Yes, but you feel no deeper connection to them."
Mo Yize scoffed. "It is because I felt a deeper connection that I ended up in this situation. The one guy I stay interested in for more than a month chases after other girls like my vagina isn't enough for them. Guys can't even handle this and he goes around looking for it elsewhere. Will you still defend what you wanted to say? That I need deeper connections to my sexual partners?" She argued. She would continue to argue until everyone saw her point.
And the hour droned on until her cellphone rang.
"Miss Mo, you'll have to accompany me to the police station." The voice on the other end was Yun Qian Meng's crony lawyer, Li Jun. She had seen the man before and he looked like a gruff and boring man who had nothing going on in his life other than his career. He wasn't eye-catching either.
"Send me the address, I'll drive there," she said passively.
She arrived outside the station and saw Yun Qian Meng and the lawyer standing outside. Her eyes paused on the car in front of which they were standing and she stared.
"Is my brother here?" she asked, her voice high-pitched.
Qian Meng blinked. "No, he's not," she said casually without offering any information.
"Then why is the car here?" she asked, not taking no for an answer.
"Is that important right now?" Qian Meng replied. Mo Yize sighed.
"Are we going according to the plan?" she asked, somewhat bored.
"Yes, the plan is to get away with a fine or a slap in the back," Li Jun interjected. "Please stick to the story and wording I told you."
"Don't go into one of those reckless rants," Qian Meng warned.
"I'll only say the truth. The bitch needs to go down for what he did to me." She glared at no one in particular.
Li Jun looked at this woman and controlled his disgust. Another spoiled brat who only thinks about getting her way. Great.
As long as he makes good money off it.
"Let's head inside," he said. "Bai Ye Qing has already given his testimony. I am yet to get my hands on it, but with the video on our hands, we will be able to back our stories," he informed them as they entered the station.
"Li Jun, come in," one of the officers ushered them in. Qian Meng turned to look at her lawyer, an impressed look evident.
"Know him from a Pro Bono case," he shrugged.
"See? They did you good, didn't they?" Qian Meng felt too self-justified in these things.
"Yes, they did," Li Jun admitted freely.
"Are the two of you banging?" Mo Yize hissed. Qian Meng glared at her.
"Not everyone goes around sucking cocks with people they see every day," she retorted. "Don't even talk about things that are against his professional ethics. There are laws against it."
"Hey, I don't wanna lose because the lawyer is shady."
Li Jun remained silent throughout this conversation. The girls stopped talking when an officer entered the room.
The questions about what happened were said and the detective looked rather dissatisfied.
"I have proof that Mr. Bai was harassing both these women before the incident."
"Oh?" the detective answered with interest. "You want to say that he harassed them into vandalizing his property?" He looked amused.
"I am not claiming anything. I have proof." Li Jun pulled out two files and slid them across the table to the detective.
"Miss Mo had been seeing Bai Ye Qing for a few months. She believed they were in an exclusive relationship. Mr. Bai was cheating on her with multiple people and at the same time pursuing an engagement with Miss Yun." He pointed to the two women. "There is video evidence of Mr. Bai gaslighting Miss Mo when she called him out for his faults. I also have bank transfers and legal documents to show how the gaslighting and toxic relationship not only psychologically harmed Miss Mo but also drained her financially."
The detective looked up, surprised. "Gaslighting?"
"As you know, gaslighting is when someone manipulates others by psychological means into believing that they are in the wrong or doubting their sanity." He paused and gave over a file.
