Chapter 408: Be Careful of the Truth
The doctor coughed and explained what medication his father was being given.
Apart from his daily medications, nothing. He was basically on vacation at the hospital. Taking up the space and room of a person who actually needed it.
Qian Meng didn't make any more comments out of frustration. She saw the doctor out and then returned to the room to face Yun Sui Bo.
"Did you have to embarrass me in front of the nurse and doctor?" Yun Sui Bo asked with his voice raised.
"Shush," Qian Meng scolded. "You are in a hospital. Don't raise your voice and disturb the patients." She gleamed wickedly at him. "And I am not the one who shamed you, you are shaming yourself by being here to escape your responsibility."
"You started it to begin with!" Yun Sui Bo countered.
Qian Meng put her hand in her purse and fished out the memory card. She sauntered over to Yun Sui Bo and put it on the bedside table.
"These are all the pictures the man took after tailing me for two days. Next time you think of pulling this trick, don't be sloppy about it," she threatened him.
Yun Sui Bo looked up in surprise. "You—"
"I am here to say a few things. I know why you called me." She looked at him deeply. "No, I will not sign over my shares to you or support you. I am the hardest target so you thought to ask me first. But I won't do it." She raised her brow. "I plan on seeing what you want to do to coerce me? I will take great pleasure in seeing you suffer."
She turned to glance at Jiang Xin. The other shifted uncomfortably in her seat, but Yun Sui Bo didn't notice.
"But let me tell you a little secret…" Qian Meng leaned into her father. "Your fake illness might turn into reality. Be careful when you find out the truth."
She stood up straight.
"I advise that you stay put in this bed and don't come out for a few days. Plan your next steps and think deeply about what you will win and lose if you fight me."
She produced the envelope with all the criminal infarctions made by Jiang Xin and placed it beside the memory chip.
"That is not the only copy. So, don't think about destroying it."
Yun Sui Bo scrambled to take it into his hands. He opened the envelope and scanned through the contents, his eyes widening slightly before he looked up.
"What is the meaning of this?" he growled.
"Letting a brainless bimbo around to spend your money can be dangerous. Especially when you love them. The money she so freely spent was done illegally. Let's see how she gets away with it." She wound her hands behind her back and looked at them.
Jiang Xin was curiously looking at the papers, not knowing what it was.
"Choose your battle wisely." Qian Meng zipped her bag decisively. "That should be all from me. You shouldn't have anything else to say. You can't convince me in any way."
Yun Sui Bo crumbled the paper in his hands as he watched her leave. He wanted to shout behind her, but he saw the people walking around in the corridor and contained himself. Anything he did now would be in the news.
Qian Meng had known that he was conscious of it and therefore asked him to silently sit there without doing anything. He looked down at the paper and glared at Jiang Xin.
"Honey?" she asked softly, curling up slowly. "I… I didn't know…"
Yun Sui Bo felt his anger slowly melt away. "I asked you to take the advice of your financial advisor at all costs, didn't I? Why did you do something so irresponsible?" he asked coolly.
"But you encouraged me to do it at the time!" she protested with a whine. "I have been listening to the financial advisor these days." She bit her lip and looked at him guiltily.
"That's good. That's good," he said calmly. He took his cellphone out and took out his son's number.
"Even without Qian Meng and Li Wenyue's support, I can override everything."
Jiang Xin looked at the phone. "You are going to bring Qing Yuan into this? You know how he loves his sister," she said softly.
Yun Sui Bo shook his head. "He has been taking a keen interest in business recently," he informed. "He had class but he came to the board meeting. He diligently took notes too." He sounded pleased with himself. "I am sure Qian Meng influenced him to take up that arts subject, but seeing him taking an interest… I think he is reconsidering his previous choices."
Jiang Xin looked tentative.
Yun Sui Bo picked the phone up and place it at his ear. He had a small, victorious smile on his lips as he waited for his son to pick the call up. But it didn't happen. He furrowed his brow. "Is he sleeping after his classes?" he wondered.
Jiang Xin cleared her throat and nodded. "He is really tired after long days of classes," she told him. "But… what about the charges Qian Meng is threatening to bring up against me?" she asked, her voice filled with worry.
Yun Sui Bo waved it off. "I have higher connections than her in politics and the police force. I can make it disappear. Don't worry about it," he assured her.
Jiang Xin frowned. "Qian Meng is intelligent like you. Don't you think she will realize what you want to do, too?" she questioned.
Yun Sui Bo's eyes flashed. He looked at his cellphone and called his son again.
And again.
And again.
But then a call from an unknown number came in. Yun Sui Bo distrustingly picked it up. "Hello?" he spoke.
"Mr. Yun, this is Li Jun speaking. I have been appointed as Yun Qing Yuan's legal representative. I suspect you are calling your son because of some issues. Would you mind sharing them with me?" he asked professionally.
