Chapter 520: Stirred (Part Two)
Jing Yiran did not become calm until much later.
He could not help but hold Lu tightly, but then immediately relaxed his grip fearing that he would have caused her pain.
“How can Jing Zhongxiu be so capable as to keep you safe?”
Jing Yiran sounded bitter. It was not until today did he realize that without the Jing Family, he and Lu might not be able to survive.
Lu did not have any expression on her face. She still sounded calm.
“I know far better than you how capable Jing Zhongxiu is. You have Jing as the family name, yet you don’t have any idea how powerful Family Jing could be. The reason why he was willing to pay to help me, was not because I could be of any use to him, but because he and my uncle used to be friends. Before my uncle died, he begged him to take care of me and he agreed.”
“Your uncle?”
Jing Yiran was surprised. This was the first time for him to hear Lu talking about her family. She had kept her family faraway from any conversation uptil now.
“Yes, I had an uncle. After I killed my parents, he supported me for a year. He did not want me to join the camp, so I had a fight with him.”
When she talked about killing her parents, she spoke about it in such a calm way as if it hadn’t been a big deal. But Jing Yiran was shocked and his body stiffened.
Lu threw a calm look at him. “Startled?”
Jing Yiran’s heart softened as he saw her eyes. He kissed Lu’s smooth forehead and said, “Why did you kill your parents? Rumor says that you killed them when you were fourteen? Is it true?”
Lu was not expecting Jing Yiran’s sudden kiss.
His lips were warm and moist filling her with some strange feelings.
But soon she forgot those feelings.
Because what Jing Yiran asked reminded her of the miserable memory.
Before she was fourteen years old, she had been living a sunny and happy life. She had been an innocent girl with a set of parents who loved her deeply. She was totally carefree.
Sometimes she would experience extreme pain in her bones and muscles. Also her strength was off the charts. But nothing else was weird. She went to school like other children and liked new clothes and shoes.
But when she reached 14 years of age, she felt the pain in her bones increase more and more. What was strange was that her parents did not panic or take her to the hospital. Instead, they tried to cure her at home by injecting a blue fluid into her body.
The fluid worked at the beginning, but the little girl could not stand the complications later.
She not only started having hallucinations, but also had severe cramps in her body. The pain tortured her day by day and her strength increased at the same time, so that neither of her parents could control her.
Gradually, she just could not tell the reality from illusion.
But one day, she was lucid suddenly. She realised that she was lying on a freezing cold table where she saw her blood taken away by her father who was talking with her mother in a low voice.
“Lu’s body can’t stand the virus anymore. I told you that you have injected too much into her. You were too anxious to keep our daughter alive.”
“That’s not my fault! You injected the virus when she was just born and she almost died because of it. Also, you injected the virus way too early and the complications arrived early because of it. You are the anxious one!”
“Let’s stop blaming each other. The virus has become adjusted inside Lu’s body and it can surely increase the physical quality of human beings. We will reach our goal, soon.”
“True. This is the most fierce virus in our institute. Our daughter can hold it in for so long, how unexpected. Now she is stronger and double skilled at hearing and seeing than normal people. I really want to try it out on myself.”
“No, we must hang on a bit more. The virus is not yet mature! I need to take some more blood for further analysis. One more month, then our product will be in formal production and entire mankind will be grateful to us. We will become the most famous scientists in the entire world!”
“Haha, our daughter was not brought up in vain. We have spent so many efforts on her. She would pay us back even when she is dead. I am not sure if she can make it after one month.”
“If the virus continues like this, then she would not pull through. Let’s stop the injection for these two days. We should not be in a hurry right now, we have had her for 14 years, anyway. Wait until the result comes out.”
……
She heard everything her parents said.
Just as they had said, she was better at hearing and seeing than normal people and she even had a better memory than ordinary beings. She already had the ability of not forgetting anything after one glance.
So even if they spoke in low voices, she could hear everything clearly. And she remembered every single word they said after so many years.
Her body had been reconstructed by a virus, and her genes had gone through tremendous change. Apart from the lifespan, her physical functions had broken through the limitation of mankind, and she had been turned into a monster with human figure because of her extraordinary abilities in eyes, ears, nose, strength, and brain.
She finally understood why she always fainted for no reason at home. It had been they who used to knock her out so as to inject the virus.
So her parents had treated her as a guinea pig, to breed a virus?
She had found the reason why she had been in pain throughout her body since she was born.
But why?
Why were they treating her in this way?
She was their daughter. Why was she being used to breed the virus? Why did they never care about her pain or her death?
She should have been proud of her parents for being scientists, but now, she hated them both.
Her parents had been injecting themselves with some amount of virus too, and had improved physically as well. But compared to her, they were nothing.
She had fallen into the dark hell from the heaven of happiness in an instant.
But she must not die, or at least, she must not die so easily. She wanted her cruel parents to die first.
The virus had brought her unbearable pain as well as super powers. She could kill anyone with even little strength.
Before her blood could be extracted by them, she chopped their heads off.
